Our Systems Engineering services
During innovation, CIL4Sys shows the usage scenarios thanks to some simulation in a virtual world, designs and realizes rapid prototyping.
During development, CIL4Sys writes specifications at system level, at sub-systems and technical functions level, at components level ; verifies and validates existing requirements with some simulation ; verifies and validates Matlab models or software components ; builds test plans.
Typically, CIL4Sys delivers in short loops (2 weeks):
- a model in Unified Modelling Language UML that describes behavioral logic of the studied system,
- the simulations that allow to visualize system behavior,
- the test sequences for validation,
- the requirements documents automatically generated with the model.
CIL4Sys guarantees the respect of your schedule and can divide your development costs by up to three.

Our software platform Sim4Sys®
At the heart of the toolchain is the tool used for UML design. We have implemented our process with two commercial tools: IBM Rhapsody® and PTC Integrity Modeler®; our process is also implemented in the Open Source Software Papyrus.
To make it simple for mechanical engineers to built a UML model, Rhapsody® and Integrity Modeler® have been customized: process is implemented in the tools. Only useful menus are shown and popup windows request information when needed, such that engineers are guided all along the design process.
We focus on using the right tool for the right job. UML's strength is in its ability to describe operational scenarios and design interfaces in the system breakdown. When operations require calculation, however, UML is not the right tool; so we use Matlab/Simulink® blocks that we integrate as operations in our UML description.
We offer a virtual environment in which the user can continuously "visualize" the resulting behavior of the logical design, thus allowing testing and validation. CIL4Sys has built this virtual environment with Web technologies, making it available as Saas on https://sim4sys.com. The first graphics database and demo examples are for the automotive industry, but building a new virtual world for other purposes is easy and offered upon request.

Our offer of R&D process transformation
The CIL4Sys' approach relies on over 20 years of experience in the industry including the management of several change projects like:
- the suppression a protoype phase in an automotive development scheme, thanks to an extensive use of digital simulation,
- the creation of a new department to manage all aspects of the connected vehicles services (sales, operations, development, quality,...).
A systems engineering approach is applied to the engineering process itself and the according organization:
- Capture the needs: what rationale is behind the will to change ?
- Evaluate the current situation: an audit is done to assess the current status of the processes, the tools and the organisation,
- Plan the transformation:
- Define some KPIs on efficiency and measure them on the existing,
- Design the processes, tools and organisation's evolutions including the transition from actual situation to target situation,
- Design the trainings and write the training plan,
- Schedule the deployment,
- Write the communication plan.
- Realize the plan: the transformation plan is deployed and the efficiency of the transformation is measured on the KPIs previously defined.
Coaching is offered to support the deployment on a long term period.
