OUR VALUES

Listening

We foster a culture of active listening — to our customers and to each other.

  • With our customers: They are continuously involved in the development process and encouraged to take part in design iterations. We value their perceptions and integrate their feedback to shape better solutions.
  • Among colleagues: We listen attentively to one another, sharing experiences and insights to learn, grow, and achieve more together.
Continuous improvement

Every project and every working day provides the opportunity to identify actions for continuous improvement, whether technical, organizational, or otherwise, in order to strengthen our efficiency. Agile values and principles guide how we practice continuous improvement within our company.

The Power of the Collective

At CIL4Sys, results are achieved together as a team. Our collective strength is what creates real value for our customers. By actively listening to one another, we reinforce collaboration and make our collective even stronger. The diversity of our talents and the complementarity of our skills are key drivers of this strength.

OUR STORY

May 2015

Creation of CIL4Sys Engineering

Our vision is to use UML/SysML models to define specifications and validate them collaboratively with stakeholders through a functional digital mock-up. From this vision came the name CIL4Sys: Customer In the Loop for Systems Engineering.

May 2015

Incubation at CentraleSupélec

Second-year students are working on their innovation project with us. Observing them at work, we discover an approach that enables effective modeling from day one — with no prior experience needed.

September 2015

Choice of technology for the functional digital mockup

Following an evaluation of alternatives, we decide to build on web technologies to create the application Sim4Sys-Virtual-Bench that runs directly in web browsers and can be deployed as SaaS

November 2015

Modeling tools benchmark

To select the modeling tools enabling customization and code generation for executing specifications within the functional digital mock-up, we benchmarked several software solutions. Initially, we chose IBM Rhapsody and PTC Modeler as the foundation for developing Sim4Sys-Designer.

February 2016

White Paper publication

To assess whether our proposed ‘Customer in the Loop’ approach is truly innovative, we conduct face-to-face interviews with industrial companies to understand their methods and tools for writing and verifying functional specifications.

May 2016

First use of Sim4Sys in project on Matrix Beam for Stellantis

The power of functional simulation within the digital mock-up at the concept stage becomes clear: the early identification of key scenarios accelerates convergence toward a robust design.

July 2016

Awarded under ADEME’s ‘Innovations PME’ call for projects

The proposal is to develop a Sim4Sys variant based on the Open Source software Papyrus, with the goal of accelerating innovation in smart mobility.

September 2017

Incubation at Télécom ParisTech

CIL4Sys’s main office moves from the CentraleSupélec incubator to the Télécom ParisTech incubator. This transition provides the opportunity to collaborate with Télécom ParisTech labs on applying AI reinforcement learning to traffic management.

October 2017

Efficiency measurement of Model-Based specification

An on-site competition is organized by an automotive OEM to compare a traditional approach (specifications written with MS Word) against a model-based specification using Sim4Sys. After one week of work, the document delivered by a single CIL4Sys engineer achieves a quality rating 30% higher than the document produced by a two-engineer team from another company.

January 2019

Autonomous valet parking demo

Since its early days, CIL4Sys has used autonomous** valet parking** as a guiding thread. We showcase the feature in action on a small scale with a tabletop car mockup and a ceiling-mounted camera detecting parking slots in our office.

January 2020

Creation of a subsidiary in Tunis

Thanks to Tunisia’s high level of engineering education and the supportive administration welcoming French companies, the newly created subsidiary can quickly become an efficient right hand to its French parent company.

September 2020

Creation of SquareMiles

In partnership with logistics experts and using the Sim4Sys toolchain, CIL4Sys created a digital platform that simulates urban deliveries across multiple modes of transport — from trucks and cargo bikes to trams and boats. The platform is marketed by SquareMiles, where CIL4Sys is a 25% shareholder.

June 2021

Launch of Hub4Sys

Hub4Sys is a web platform where Creative Commons projects, designed with the free version of Sim4Sys, can be shared with the community.

September 2022

Gartner Recognition

Gartner acknowledges CIL4Sys as a potential future player in the Software Engineering and Digital Manufacturing Hype Cycles.

May 2023

Partnership with Vietsol

Vietsol, a Vietnamese engineering company, has recognized the value of our ‘Customer in the Loop’ approach, and we have signed an agreement appointing Vietsol as the distributor of Sim4Sys in Asia.

March 2024

Research tax credit (CIR) accreditation

The accreditation granted by the Ministry of Higher Education and Research recognizes your company’s ability to carry out R&D work on behalf of clients for the period 2024, 2025, and 2026.

October 2024

Qualiopi certification

The Paris office of CIL4Sys Engineering obtains Qualiopi certification for compliance with the quality framework for its training activities, covering the period from October 15, 2024 to October 14, 2027.

January 2025

INCOSE Certifications

CIL4Sys engineers pass INCOSE exam and get ASEP and CSEP certificates.
